They Call Me a Dreamer. Bet I'm Not the Only One.

Published: Sun, 02/28/21

It was a very specific moment in time, when I was about 10, that my dreams of travel were set in motion. You can read about it at the beginning of this post.

But this past year, it has been difficult for me to dream. There's been more reason for pessimism than optimism. It's been a long haul for all of us. And the second wave was particularly painful.

But now, with the numbers falling and the vaccine rolling out, there is finally reason for hope.

I began a French course in January. Any of you who have been reading Solo Traveler for some time know that I've been working on this language for a very long time. In addition to the course, I'm reading a juvenile novel in French, watching The Crown in French and attending French conversation meet-ups. Yes, I'm on a roll. Progress is being made.

So, feeling optimistic and more capable with the language than ever, I am dreaming of French destinations. I'll likely go to Quebec first as it will likely open up to me first. But then there will be France. Ahh, France!

I'm not at the planning stage yet but I am dreaming.

Are you dreaming? Where are you dreaming of going? Is there something in particular that has helped focus your travel dreams? Let me know.

Dreams Are Inspired at the Solo Traveler Insiders Events
This past month, Tracey had the pleasure of interviewing Catherine Driver for the Insiders Speaker Series. She told us all about her life-altering solo walk on El Camino de Santiago and shared tips and advice to help others plan their own journey. All our speaker events are recorded so that whenever you join the Solo Traveler Insiders you will be able to watch all previous sessions. Coming up in March: Shivya Nath on Sustainable Travel. Happy travel dreaming,
