Hi all,
Travel
feeds a curious mind.
To go
out and travel the world, especially to do so solo, enables one to pursue paths of learning and exploration that are not available from home.
Or are
they?
I’m
writing to you from cottage country north of Toronto. After six months of no travel, Tracey, Simon and I decided to treat ourselves. Yes, this is not a solo trip but one that we all needed. We got out of our urban environment to relax into nature.
And,
I’ve found, the same curiosity that is activated when traveling a new culture has been ignited here. And yet it’s quite different. There’s an intensity to real travel that fills the senses with questions about food, architecture, customs, and more. Near home, at a cottage on the Canadian Shield, relaxation is the key to seeing, shall we say, the trees for the forest. To see the details that make me curious and motivated to new
understanding.
I hope
you’ve found your bit of local travel to feed your curiosity.

In
October, we’ll be running our annual Reader Survey. Please look for it and give us your feedback. It will be particularly valuable this year.
Last
week, our Patreon Insiders group had a great session with travel insurance expert Phil Sylvester. He answered our questions about travel insurance and the pandemic. That session has been added to our library and available for members. Coming up in October is our first zoom meetup and another in our speaker series. Plus, as always, we try to have a bonus benefit. In September, it's a free premium version of the Roadtrippers app. You can learn more here.

That's it for this month. Cheers,
