Hi Solo Traveler, A good idea is not good enough.
Published: Sun, 03/24/19
The more than 400 of you who have already taken the Wits & Wonder Travel Course know that I love podcasts. Yesterday I was listening to Freakanomics Radio, The Hidden Side of Everything. It was episode 369, A Good Idea Is Not Good Enough.
The episode suggests that the idea is easy. It's the execution that can be difficult. It made me think of the people who write me about their idea of traveling solo but their difficulty in actually going - the execution. It's one of the reasons that I wrote the course. It was to help people execute a great solo trip. It's also one of the great things about the Solo Travel Society on Facebook. There, solo travelers help other solo travelers with the execution of their travels every single day.
I hope that Solo Traveler, whether through the site, Facebook, the course, our Deals page, or our new Cool & Useful page, helps you execute a great solo trip.
Upcoming Travels
I'm going to Iceland in April. Yes, finally! Iceland has been on my list (as it is on many of yours) for years. I'll write about it on the blog in May. Then, Simon, who is my husband and takes care of finding the tours and cruises with no and low single supplements for our Deals page, is off to Graz, Austria. (For those who don't know, I remarried in 2017. And yes, I still travel solo.)
Heads Up for those Going to Europe
I just received a press release saying that Eating Europe is having a sale. I've done a few their tours and they are great! Read A Fabulous Trastevere Food Tour. Between March 27th and 31st, they're offering 15% off all their tours and gift cards. Click here to see where they have tours and use SPRING2019 as the promo code to get the deal.
Well, that's it for now! Happy travels,
Janice
